Jamaica René
Jamaica René is a multifaceted creative from Oakland, California, specializing in film and video production. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Spelman College and her Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television from Savannah College of Art and Design. Jamaica has written, directed, produced, and edited several projects ranging from narrative and documentary films to commercials and music videos. It is her goal in entertainment to push the envelope of everyday Black stories.
Jamaica's most recent film, "When it Reigns," is currently in the film festival circuit, and has already been accepted to one festival that occurred in September 2023. Additionally, her short documentary, "Love Letter to Savannah," was selected to air on Revolt TV as a part of their "Short and Fresh" programming in September 2023 and is still streaming on the app.
In addition to film and video, Jamaica also has experience in marketing strategy, graphic design, and copywriting.
